Infant Room

Your baby's first year of life is an amazing time, filled with discovery and growth that sets the path for all the years to come. This is the time when the important factors to your baby are closeness, affection and eye contact. They are learning voices and familiar sounds from their environment.
It can be difficult to leave your infant in someone else's care and be confident that he'll get the same care and stimulation you would give him. Our Precious Gems’ Infant Program will put your mind at ease.
We'll take care of his daily needs, the same way you do. We'll also stimulate your baby's cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Our infant teachers build a bond of trust with your baby and with you, and provide a warm, loving environment where he'll build confidence in himself and develop positive and trusting relationships.
Our Precious Gems has a warm, caring environment and we are dedicated to cleanliness and sanitation. Every infant has his own crib, and special care is taken to personalize your child's crib with keepsakes from home.
We offer many activities to keep your children involved in their day to day schedule. We have music and movement, which includes musical instruments such as drums and maracas, toys that make noise and soothing music playing throughout the day. Language Development is another area that we cover by using board books and picture books. We have an exploration area that has a mirrored wall and tummy time area. Gross Motor Play is achieved with our activity walkers and exersaucers. Fine Motor Play includes stacking blocks and reaction toys. Quiet Play includes soft animals, dolls and balls. Our infant program is broken up into three different rooms.

  • Peas in a Pod (6weeks-5months)
  • Rollie Pollies (5months-9months)
  • Waddlers (9months-12months)

Peas in a Pod

From 6 weeks of age to 5 months of age, we have our peas in a pod. From your arms to ours, your children will be loved and care for like baby peas in a pod. This is the time when important factors to your baby are closeness, affection and eye contact. Our peas in a pod spend ample time each day heart to heart with their caregivers. They are exploring the world with their senses and developing their motor skills.

Our Waddlers are able to see and begin to know how things work. These children start to experiment with their world and use their senses to understand everything by touching, seeing, hearing, etc. We provide the extra attention that is needed as they begin to walk and crawl. Two-Year-Olds

Two-Year-Olds want to be seen as independent, but we know they need reassurance as they grow. We pride ourselves in giving them an environment to get their wings. Teachers stay close, leaving opportunity for the children to create and explore in their surroundings. We provide security and trust by encouraging their development individually through all of their senses of touch, sight, smell taste and listening. The children will be emerged in learning through songs, finger plays and hands on activities. We encourage messy play with water, play dough, sand and other materials giving the children an opportunity to sift, pour, stir and mold to develop their problem solving, verbal and fine motor skills.

Pull-Ups and several changes of clothing will be needed. Children will not be moved to the Preschool room until they are 3-years-old and potty trained.

Pre-School

Our Preschool Program is a theme based curriculum which encourages hands on activities for the children to learn with all of their senses. The learning environment provided encourages children to explore the world around them. A daily schedule is followed throughout the day and in doing this, it allows children to have consistency and become independent. The classrooms are set up in centers, which allow children to have independent, small and large group times along with one on one time with their teacher. A child must be 3-years-old and potty trained to be in the preschool room.
